Repertoire - Old Time Country - Others
Country got its start in the old time string bands of the 20’s and has been popularized so much now that what a true-blue country music lover thinks is “traditional “ country music is close to rock, 50’s style. Country singers have interesting voices, good yet simple music, even when the lyrics are maudlin and predictable. Some of the ones here may be newer, but they sound country, not rock and roll. The Bard Rocks listens to country radio from time to time and sometimes finds hidden gems, mostly from the requests from hits of the past. Hank & Jimmie weren't the only ones.
